WELCOME
Victoria Wright

If you are looking for something that you can not find either e-mail  or phone me on 01460 240066, as I am likely to have it already or I can order it in for you. I have hundreds of dried herbs, tinctures etc. in stock as I have been practising Traditional Medical Herbalism and running a busy mail order business supplying the public, health practitioners and retail outlets for the last 14 years.

Keep checking back as I update every Tuesday, to see what products and information has been added. Many thanks Victoria Wright.

HERBAL FIRST AID > Ointments, Salves & Balms
Stall Products

Ointments are hand-crafted, using quality, natural ingredients mainly grown and processed to organic standards. They are packaged in recycled amber glass jars, and are available in 30ml., 60ml sizes. Larger sizes are available by special order. I may also be able to make you up an ointment to your own specifications, please enquire.

An ointment is a blend of oils, fats and waxes with a 15-20% addition of aqueous extracts. As there is a small amount of water in the ointment, I am able to use grapefruit seed extract as a natural preservative which gives the products a 1 year self-life.

It is important when using the ointment that fingers are clean when dipping into the jar, and store in a cool, dark place to prolong the shelf-life.

My Chickweed & Hemp Ointment has been featured twice in The Sunday Times, Style Magazine in the 'What's The Alternative' health column writen by Jennifer Harper-Deacon, Health Journalist of The Year 2008: article 9th March 2008 and article 6th May 2007

OILS > Herbal Macerated Oils

Herbal Macerated Oils are also known as infused or fixed oils. They are gentle oils that can be applied directly onto the skin as they are. Essential oils can also be added for extra benefit.

Store in a cool dark place to prolong the shelf-life.

There are two methods by which the active plant constituents can be extracted into oil.

The cold maceration method is used for flowers and delicate herbs with a strong aroma meaning they have a high concentration of essential oils. The fresh or dried plant material is packed into a large glass jar, covered with a vegetable oil, such as olive, sunflower or almond, placed on a sunny windowsill and left to soak/macerate for three weeks. The herbs are then strained out and the spent herb or marc is discarded. The process is then repeated with new herb but using the same oil, topping up with extra oil as needed.

The hot maceration method is used for hardier parts of plants such as the leaf or root. The herb and oil is placed together into a glass bowl over a pan of boiling water and heated gently for about three hours. An earthenware pot with a lid can also be used and heated gently in a low oven for several hours. The mixture is then strained and pressed, cooled and bottled.

BLENDS & MIXES > Herbal Tea Mixes
Herb Tea Packets

Herbal Tea Mixes I have been mixing these blends for many years now, and they have become favourites with many. All the herbs used are organic where possible, although occasionally wild-crafted, wild-harvested or conventional herbs may be substituted. They are packaged in cellophane bags, which are made of plant cellulose and so are 100% biodegradable, and then enclosed in brown paper bags, which are recyclable. Larger sizes are available on request. I can also mix blends to your own individual specifications.
